Quality
Citogen, as a leading specialised laboratory in the area of forensic genetics, has been granted UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the general study of forensic samples.
Our accreditation covers from preliminary studies through the detection of biological fluids to paternity/maternity, paternal lineage and other kinship studies by using the gold-standard technique (capillary electrophoresis) and the latest massive NGS sequencing technology.
This accreditation enables us not only to obtain genetic profiles from biological samples in different media but also to perform subsequent statistical studies.
OUR ACCREDITATIONS
We make sure you always get the very best results.
Accreditation General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories (UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025)
Analysis of biological samples in different media, determination of biological fluids, genetic profiling studies through capillary electrophoresis and next-generation sequencing and statistical kinship studies.
Accreditation Clinical Laboratories - Requirements for Quality and Competence (UNE-EN ISO 15189)
Analysis of biological samples from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tumor tissue blocks using RT-qPCR, to evaluate gene expression profiles and predict metastasis risk in breast cancer.
Intercomparison exercises
As part of our commitment to the continuous improvement of the quality of our services, we regularly submit our processes to intercomparison exercises with external international agencies (European Cytogeneticist Association, International Society of Forensic Genetics, European Molecular Quality Network). These controls ensure the results’ quality assurance over time.
- Cytogenetics: Genomics Quality Assessment (GenQA)
- Molecular Genetics: European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN)
- Forensic Genetics:International Society of Forensic Genetics. GHEP-ISFG intercomparison exercisesn
- Molecular Pathology: Intercomparison exercises with the Department of Pathology, H.U. Canarias, and the Department of Molecular Pathology, Anatomical Pathology, H.U. La Paz. (OncoSEGO)
